Our Story

Fig & Loom was birthed out of a desire to bring a physical representation of hope into our homes. After our first daughter, Imogen, was stillborn in 2019, I wanted my home to inspire hope that no matter how bad things seem, this is not the end of the story.

I didn't want fluffy white clouds and angel wings. I wanted beautiful furnishings and decor that honored the life of my daughter and surrounded us with reminders that her life had purpose, no matter how desperate it seemed. Items whose imperfections only added to their worth, pieces that would withstand the test of time.

I purchased my first Turkish rug that year and it's still proudly displayed in our kitchen, the heart of our home.

These rugs are hand knotted, woven by women much like you and I, who pour their hopes and dreams, celebrations and despair into the colors and patterns they weave. They are designed to be passed down for years to come and their stories are told to future generations.

They are timeless, valuable heirlooms and their legacy lives on today.

I couldn't imagine a better way to honor our girl.

As a loss mama, nothing makes me happier than to hear people remember our girl by name. Each of these rugs are named after babies whose life here on earth was far too short, but whose memory and legacy live on.

When you purchase textiles from Fig & Loom, you are honoring the life of one of these babes and welcoming a physical representation of hope into your own home. I can't wait to see hope live on.
