How to Care for Your Vintage Rug

Now that you’ve invested in this beautiful rug, you want to make sure it lasts a lifetime (and beyond).

Regular care will ensure that you can pass it down to future generations.

1. Vacuum regularly to remove dust and debris, but don’t use the roller brush. And here's a tip - flip the rug over and vacuum the back once a month or so. The vibration will loosen stubborn particles and give your rug a deeper clean.

2. These rugs naturally resist stains, so many spills wipe right up. If you need to clean a stubborn stain, spot treat it with a damp cloth and blot from the outside in. You can use vinegar or a mild dish soap for especially difficult spots.

Make sure your rug is able to dry completely.

3.  Use a rug pad. A rug pad protects both your floors and the rug, extending the lives of both.

4.  We recommend having your rug professionally cleaned once every few years.

5. Remember, wool is designed to withstand high traffic and wear. They are family and pet friendly and there's no need to wait until your house is empty to invest in these beauties. Stains or marks eventually add to their character and charm anyway.
